DAMIAN DRIVE
— upper yoder township —
Plan your visit
The nine rooms
You walk a defined route: up the driveway, through the garages, out the back, and straight through the front yard to the road. 12–15 minutes, door to door.
- I.The Driveway Processional
Front of driveway — gas lamps, a notice on a stake, a voice inside the garage - II.The Spider Hallway
The corridor between the house and the garage — webs, red light, something scuttling - III.The Train
A short walk to the chair bay — the horn fires once - IV.The Electric Chair
Garage One — ozone, sparks, a buzzing fluorescent, an operator in a leather apron - V.The Witches' Room
Garage Three, through the interior door — the only quiet room. Fortune-teller, cauldron fog, dolls - VI.The Pallet Maze
Mid-driveway, open air — pallet walls, a strobe at heartbeat rate, clowns hunting - VII.The Laser Swamp
Garage Two — heavy green fog, the rails of the Inclined Plane on the walls, a figure in white - VIII.The Sheets
The backyard — you push through them, and something is between them - IX.The Body-Bag Corridor + Chainsaw Chase
The exit gauntlet — do not stop, the gate is ahead
Each room is a different kind of afraid: the webs, the horn, the chair, the dolls, the maze, the light, the sheets, the bags, and what is behind you at the end.
Good to know
- Do I need to book?
- No. Come any time between dusk and nine. If it is busy there will be a short wait at the gate; sentries send people through as space allows.
- Where do I park?
- East side of Damian Drive, not in the lane itself — the lane is the walkthrough. Keep driveways and the intersection clear.
- How much does it cost?
- Nothing. There is no charge and there are no tickets.
- Can I leave early?
- Say "Damian". A sentry will walk you out and skip the rest. No explanation needed, no embarrassment — it is part of the ritual.
- Is there a physical guest book?
- Yes. There is a composition notebook on a stand at the entry, and another at the exit. Writing your initials there works exactly the same as signing online.
- Can children come?
- Yes. It is recommended for ages 10 and up, and the Witches' Room is the gentlest room in the house.
Finding it
114 Damian Drive is a cul-de-sac off Woodmont Road, climbing Yoder Hill in Upper Yoder Township. The Stonycreek runs four hundred feet below to the south; the top station of the Johnstown Inclined Plane is visible from the yard.
